SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

Prior to Using the Unit

  1. Clean filters and replace them back to their original positions.
  2. Clean indoor unit with soft cloth.
Do not use chemical solvents to clean the unit. Do not use any flammable liquids, insecticides, or aerosol sprays near or on the unit as these can damage the unit or create a possible fire hazard.
  3. Check to make sure that inlets and outlets of indoor and outdoor units are not covered or blocked.
  4. Clean intake grill, if necessary.
  5. Check to make sure ground wire is not loose.
  6. Insert batteries into the remote control and turn on unit.
  7. Run the Indoor Unit in FAN mode for 1 hour to clear any dust or debris on the coils, before running Unit in other modes.
  • Air Filters and Deodorization Filters must be cleaned periodically. Time between cleanings will vary based upon air quality and unit application.
  • Wait for Unit to Completely Stop Running BEFORE Opening Front Panel

Check and Clean/Deodorize Air Filters

  1. Remove air filters
  2. Filters can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner, or by patting them gently to loosen dirt/debris. If filters are very dirty, they can be washed in warm water (below 104 °F) dissolved with mild solution of washing detergent.
  3. Rinse filters with clean water, and allow to air dry.
  4. Replace the filters in the unit. Make sure they are inserted securely back in their original positions. Close plastic front panel

Never Operate the Indoor Unit Without Filters!

If Unit Will Not Be Used for a Prolonged Period

  1. Run unit in FAN Mode for 1 hour to completely dry the coils inside of the indoor unit.
  2. Run unit in HEAT mode. Set system to the highest temperature the control will allow, and set fan speed. Run for 1 hour.
  3. Turn off the unit using the remote or line control.
  4. Shut off system circuit breaker.
  5. To prevent possible damage from corrosion, remove the batteries from the remote or line control.

REPLACEMENT OF BATTERIES

  • If the signal from the Remote Control becomes weak, or if the icons on the display screen becomes blurred, open the back cover and replace with two new AAA 1.5W batteries.
  • The positive and negative poles must match the installation positions.
  • New batteries of the same type should to be used for replacement.
  • If the Remote Control is not going to be used for a prolonged period, remove the batteries to prevent damage to the Remote Control that can be caused by electrolyte leakage.
  • If your Remote Control begins to function abnormally, remove the batteries to clear the display

PROTECT THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM

  • TVs, radios or other home electronic appliances should be at least 40 inches (1 meter) away from Indoor units.
  • Protect the Indoor Unit from direct sun or lighting.

OPERATION TIPS

  • Set a suitable room temperature. Remember, excessively low room temperatures waste electricity and are not good for your health. Avoid frequently changing the set temperature.
  • When cooling, avoid direct sun. Keep curtains and blinds closed, Remember to close doors and windows to keep the cool air in the room.
  • Avoid the use of heating appliances while the air conditioner in cooling mode.
  • Make sure that the air louver is positioned properly: horizontal flow in cooling and downward vertical flow for heating.
  • To avoid hot spots, keep the room temperature uniform by adjusting the left/right vertical air louvers.
  • Stay comfortable by positioning the air louvers in a direction that prevents air from being blown directly on you or your guests.
  • During prolonged operation, allow fresh air in by opening a window to occasionally ventilate the room.
  • In the event of a power failure, the system settings are retained in memory. When restarted, operation will resume in the last operation mode and settings. However, if the timer was set, the unit will only be turned off by the timer if the Remote Control is pointed toward the unit. If the Remote is not pointed at the unit, the Timer settings will not be stored by the unit.
  • When turning your system on, allow roughly 3 minutes for cooling, heating or dehumidify operations to begin.
  • When DEHUMIDIFY mode is set, make sure that the room temperature is between 68°F-81°F (20°C -27°C). When operated outside of this range, the unit could trip a system protection, and shut down.
  • When COOL or DEHUMIDIFY modes are used, make sure the room’s relative humidity is lower than 78%. If the unit is used for a prolonged periods of time while humidity is high, moisture may form on the air outlet and drip.
  • The Indoor Unit may not be able to receive commands from the Remote Control if the indoor unit IR sensor is covered, or exposed to direct sunlight or strong light. In such a case, block the direct sunlight or dim the lighting.
  • The remote control is operative in a range of 26 ft. (8 meters). When the Remote Control is out of range, the Indoor Unit may have difficulties transmitting and receiving commands.
